We are proud to share the news that three creative talents – Vinayak, Abhinay, and Sudeep – from our India partners, Medulla Communications, have been selected as members of the Grand Jury for the prestigious New York Health Awards. They have been instrumental in creating culturally rooted and insight-led communications for several prestigious health and pharmaceutical brands in India. You can view their detailed profiles below.
Vinayak Shinde is Group Creative Director-Health at Medulla Communications. This is the second consecutive year that he has been selected as a Grand Jury for the NYF Health Awards. Before Medulla Communications, his work has also been honored with three finalist nominations at Global Awards NY and a silver at the Rx Club Awards.
By creatively using his scientific understanding, sense of cultural context, and simple hacks, Vinayak steered award-winning creatives that helped Medulla become ‘The Agency of the Year’ at Cannes Lions for three consecutive years. At Cannes Lions Health, he won a Bronze in 2015, a Silver and a Bronze in 2016, and two Bronzes in 2017. He has also won 12 awards at Clio, LIA, and EFFIE.
Vinayak was among the nine talents who were invited to Cannes Lions Awards (2017) to participate in the Innovation Hack and went on to win his personal Lion for leading the winning team. In addition, Vinayak has been a Grand Jury at both the Rx Club Awards (2015) and the Global Awards (2017 & 2018) and a panelist of the Grand Jury for Cannes Young Lions, Kazakhstan.
Abhinay Patil is Group Creative Director-Art at Medulla Communications. He is an artist at heart and an adman by passion and profession. Having won many prizes in art competitions at school and college levels, a career in applied art was the obvious choice.
A graduate of one of India’s leading art schools, Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art, Abhinay began his career with Leo Burnett before pursuing his Master’s in advertising from Savannah College of Art and Design in the United States.
With over 10 years of experience before Medulla, Abhinay has worked for Evolution Bureau, San Francisco and for Grey and Ogilvy in Mumbai. He brings with him a wealth of expertise in leadership, strategy, client engagement, and insightful ideation. His diverse portfolio includes acclaimed work on McDonald’s, BCCI (IPL and Champion’s League), Mumbai Indians, and Tata Motors.
Abhinay’s work has regularly won him accolades at national and international advertising festivals. Papercraft is something he holds very dear and loves to indulge in his free time.
Sudeep Puthyathaya is Group Creative Director-Copy at Medulla Communications. He began his journey with traditional advertising as a copywriter, developing TVCs and print-led campaigns. With time, he seamlessly pivoted to digital and is now equally at home with new-age brand communication. Traditional or digital, he believes that it’s simply the channel through which the message travels. His keen observations about life and insights form the core of his storytelling.
As a creative professional, Sudeep has created highly visible and effective campaigns for several renowned international and Indian brands. Now, at Medulla Communications, he has his hand firmly on the pulse of the brands and builds human-centric stories.
Sudeep’s passion is not just about building creative strategies or weaving outstanding narratives but also about providing thought and directional leadership to the new generation and helping lay a strong foundation for a robust creative economy. He believes that true success comes when creative communication resonates with the audience, builds a strong brand philosophy, and leads to increased revenue for clients.
